METAV 2012

metav2_1In a few months’ time, the METAV 2012 – the International Trade Fair for Manufacturing Technology and Automation – will be opening its doors in Düsseldorf. From 28 February to 3 March, the latest innovations and solutions will once again be on show for a broadly based trade public.

“The preparations for METAV 2012 have been in full swing for several months now”, says Martin Göbel, Project Manager at the METAV’s organiser VDW (German Machine Tool Builders’ Association) in Frankfurt am Main. The METAV team, he continues, have taken on board many and varied topics in their efforts to make the event a genuine highlight in the 2012 diary for metalworking trade fairs.

The exhibitors’ showcases will once again be complemented by attractive complementary programme. Together with various partners, special events will be held on subjects like medical technology, composite machining, sustainability in the production process, and recruitment advertising. Service support has also been improved, now that exhibitors for the first time can register online.

“The METAV’s attractions are already seeing vigorous demand before the official deadline for registrations”, reports Göbel. This, he says, reflects the METAV’s importance as a trade fair platform for the metalworking sector in the northern half of Germany and the adjoining European countries, by virtue of its geographical proximity to the customers there. Many exhibitors who not least because of the economic crisis opted out of participation in the METAV 2010 will be back again in 2012. This is particularly true for the manufacturers of high-precision tools. Lothar Horn, Chairman of the High-Precision Tool Association in the VDMA, confirms: “We shall be exhibiting at the METAV 2012, since its scheduling at the beginning of March offers a chance of showcasing the latest developments at an early stage in the year.”

 METAV 2012 in Düsseldorf

The next METAV will be held from 28 February to 3 March 2012 in Düsseldorf. In the even years, it has firmly established itself as an important technology shop window for the entire gamut of manufacturing technology and automation in Germany for manufacturers and customers from Europe. The METAV will be showcasing the entire spectrum of manufacturing technology, focusing on machine tools, production systems, high-precision tools, automated material flows, computer technology, industrial electronics and accessories. The METAV’s visitor target group includes all major industrial sectors, particularly plant and machinery manufacturers, the automotive industry and its component suppliers, aerospace, the electrical engineering industry, the metalworking sector, medical technology and the craft sector. At the last METAV in 2010, around 700 exhibitors showcased their products, solutions and services on more than 32,000 m² of net exhibition area. They attracted approximately 45,000 trade visitors from 26 different countries.
